Great news - Apple brings iPhone Bluetooth to all of us

Today is a good day for further usage of this wonderful device!

    Nope, Apple has specifically said that keyboard support is not enabled on the 3.0 Firmware :(

    let’s see what the official 3.0 SDK brings - if it can be shared the “SDK / non-jailbroken way” - I’ll be very glad to share it.

    I’d say that would be hard due to the restriction on background apps which will still be there in 3.0.

    But there might be a way to make an app in which you can type text and then cut&paste into the clipboard, accessing the BT through the accessory API. Well that’s just my thoughts on that, I’m not an expert on this of course.

    It doesn’t seem like Apple will be releasing external bluetooth keyboard support anytime soon, so if you have an app/option that works with jailbroken phones I would definitely be a happy customer.

    Me too. I mean, as great as it’d be to have the iPhone natively support Bluetooth HID, it doesn’t sound like Apple has it planned for this update. Plus we’ll have to wait until Summer before we find out! If you could help in any way, jailbroken or not, we’d be so grateful…we’ll pay of course!

    I didn’t expect that, why not consider releasing it for jailbroken iPhones? Or would that ruin your chances of getting it in the app store?

    Well, I guess I’ll be off looking for a netbook to use as portable typewriter.
